Major Milestone achieved by Social Security for Millions!

Now it is being reported that the new payment structure includes multiple benefits. It has backdated paychecks as well as the updated amounts also.

It is being informed that about 3.1 Million payments have been sent to the beneficiaries who were basically anyhow impacted from the repeal of both the bills mentioned above, viz WEP and GPO. If converted in currency, about $17 billions have been paid in payments.

The spousal or survival beneficiaries who were receiving the benefits, who were the workers of any sort of state or in local government, started receiving the smaller amount as directed by the GPO.


It is being reported that the SSA is doing some significant changes to enhance the customer service county wide. Under this, the telephone system has been upgraded in almost 841 field offices, that is almost 70% worldwide. It will certainly cut down the average waiting time for the customers. It is estimated that almost 13 minutes will be lowered down. This is an almost 35 percent drop from last year.

There is another new service model in practice on the grounds. It has reduced the waiting time by almost 10 percent. It has decreased the waiting time over many years. The backlog for disability claims has been lowered down by almost 25%.Talking about numbers it is almost 1.2 million and about 950,000 cases. There is a new record being formed in disability hearings which have reached a low of almost 276,000 still pending. Now the wait time is almost lowered by 60 days as compared to the last time told by the agency
