Mark Your Calendars: $2,000 SSDI Checks Drop This Wednesday!

Feeling broke? Hang tight — the Social Security Administration (SSA) is sending out its final wave of July payments this Wednesday, July 23, and if you’re on Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or survivor benefits, your check could be on the way!

Who’s Getting Paid This Week?

If your birthday falls between the 21st and 31st, congrats — your SSDI (or retirement/survivor) benefits are due this week.

The SSA splits monthly payments across three Wednesdays:

  • Born 1st–10th: Paid July 9
  • Born 11th–20th: Paid July 16
  • Born 21st–31st: Paid July 23 ← That’s this week, bestie!

Even if you’re not on SSDI but claim benefits from a spouse or deceased partner, this schedule still applies (based on their birthday, not yours).

Long-Time Beneficiaries? You’re Already Paid!

If you started getting your benefits before May 1997, your check already landed on July 3.

Same goes for SSI recipients – that money hit your account on July 1, and if you get both SSI + SSDI, you likely got one check on the 1st and the other on the 3rd.

But here’s a little pro tip: Next month’s check might arrive earlier. Since August 3 is a Sunday, that payment drops Friday, August 1. Bookmark it!

But Like… How Much Are We Talking?

Here’s what the average monthly check looks like right now:

  • Retired workers: $2,005
  • Disabled workers (SSDI): $1,582
  • Survivor benefits: $1,571
  • SSI beneficiaries: $717

Some folks (hello, max earners!) could even see up to $5,108 a month. Yep, for real.

Final Reminder

So if you or someone you love relies on SSDI, retirement, or survivor benefits, and the birthday lands in that July 21–31 slot — you’re up next.

Wednesday, July 23 = Check day. Don’t sleep on it.
